REGISTERED CHARITY - 1112679
We had confirmation of our registeed charitable status on the 11th January 2006

Ian Anthonisz and John James who were in Sri Lanka at the time of the Tsunami founded the ‘Once in a Lifetime Fund’ in 2005. It is a non-political and non-profit making organisation.

One of the main purposes of the Charity was to rebuild the lives of people who lost everything from the disaster in the whole of Sri Lanka.

All of the committee and volunteers will give their services free.

The ‘Once in a Lifetime Fund’ also aimed to bring together people of all nationalities in Sri Lanka and create a mutually beneficial bond. The founders and committee will find a wider range of volunteers and fundraisers.

The founders and committee will arrange fundraising events and friends will give their services free in order to fund the development of worthy causes in Sri Lanka.

The Charity Company is run by a council of management and the intention is, to continue to broaden the charitable scope of the support which can be given to Sri Lanka or other developing nations.

The Charity is dependant on the proceeds of donors, friends, any subscriptions and donations and the Charity has no endowments.

The UK committee includes Ian & Janice Anthonisz, John James, Colin & Rosemarie Bray & Thelma Wade. In Sri Lanka we have many helpers.

Ian & Janice have been close friends of Colin & Rosemarie and met up in London in January 2005, they offered to help immediately and were on the next flight to Colombo in March.

IMPROVING HOMES
[23 November 2011 00:00GMT]
OIAL is continuting with its programme of improving homes in rural areas .
Materials are supplied and the villagers join together to complete each house to a habitable state - no outside contractors are invloved and we can therefore arrange for a complete house to be constructed at a cost of around £350.00
The owner is required to complete the foundation work, before our input. This ensures that the occupant completes the project without delay.
TRIPLETS

We are supporting two month old triplets. The family were finding it extremely difficult to look after them and OIAL's assistance will enable them to remain together as a family unit.
